Bob is President & CEO of Henry Ford Health, a premier healthcare services company dedicated to helping people live their best lives.
A lifelong Detroiter and proud Wayne State University graduate, Bob began his career at Henry Ford Health in 1978. With nearly five decades of service, he brings a deep understanding of healthcare operations, organizational culture, and community impact –shaped by experience at every level of the organization.
Since becoming CEO in 2022, Bob has led several of Henry Ford Health’s most ambitious initiatives, including the landmark joint venture with Ascension Michigan. Bob’s leadership is also key to the $3B Future of Health project and Destination: Grand, the once-in-a-generation transformation of Henry Ford Health’s flagship campus in Detroit. The project includes a new 20-story hospital tower with all private rooms, adramatically expanded Emergency Department, 28 operating rooms, and a state-of-the-art Central Energy Hub, positioning the campus as a national model for modern, sustainable healthcare while reinforcing Henry Ford Health’s commitment to Detroit.
Under Bob’s leadership, Henry Ford Health continues to advance as a leading academic and research institution, consistently ranking among the top five National Institutes of Health-funded institutions in Michigan. The organization is also at the forefront of digital transformation, implementing a fully integrated electronic medical record and leveraging data, advanced technology and strategic partnerships to improve care delivery, access and outcomes.
Beyond Henry Ford Health, Bob is deeply engaged in civic and philanthropic leadership across the region and is widely sought out for his perspective on healthcare, economic development, and Detroit’s future.
